Jan 27, 2012: Return of the Deli-Style
Healthy comfort food seemed appropriate on this dreary day, so I made the same deli-style sandwich as a few Fridays ago. We also introduced a bran muffin today as the snack.
Sandwich: Turkey, ham, melted havarti, red onion, jalapeños, tomatoes, arugula and a spread of mayo and pesto on 6 grain bread
Snack: Bran Muffins (Nature’s Path Organic Smart Bran, whole wheat flour, flax seed, egg, milk, bananas, walnuts, vanilla, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt). The muffin needed a small sweet kick so we sprinkled on some powdered sugar. We thought maybe next time we could add cream cheese frosting to make it even a little sweeter.
